TRIGGERS AND SHAPPERS FOUNDATION

The Triggers and Shappers  Foundation is a registered non-governmental and non-profit organization established under the Companies Act of 1963, limited by guarantee. Founded in 2014 by a visionary team of three talented individuals with expertise in Information Technology (IT) education, financial modeling, and social work, the Foundation stands as a beacon of hope for young people in deprived and vulnerable communities across Ghana and beyond.
Since its inception,  Foundation has remained committed to equipping young people with the right mindset, skills, and mentorship to thrive in a rapidly changing global economy. The organization believes that true development begins with knowledge transfer, digital empowerment, and community-driven innovation. Through its grassroots and institutional programs, the Foundation has touched the lives of hundreds of students, young entrepreneurs, and professionals nurturing them into self-reliant and purpose-driven citizens.

At its core, Foundation exists to bridge the digital divide by empowering youth through technology, mentorship, and education. The founders believed that the only sustainable way to transform communities is by investing in the minds and skills of young people the “triggers” of future change. This philosophy gave birth to the Foundation’s unique Mentor–Mentee Model, where Triggers represent young mentees students, innovators, and entrepreneurs with potential in IT while Shappers are accomplished professionals and mentors who guide, shape, and inspire them to reach their full potential. Together, they form a powerful force that promotes learning, innovation, and social transformation.

Over the years, the Foundation has built strong mentorship ecosystems across schools, universities, and community hubs, connecting young people to mentors in diverse fields such as software development, business management, education, and creative design. These interactions not only provide technical guidance but also foster leadership, confidence, and teamwork essential ingredients for holistic growth.
The T&S Foundation’s approach goes beyond traditional training; it combines practical digital learning, life coaching, and character development. Each program is designed to create a ripple effect empowering one young person who, in turn, empowers another. Through this multiplier effect, the Foundation is gradually creating a generation of change agents who are digitally skilled, socially conscious, and ready to shape a better Africa.

Moreover, T&S Foundation emphasizes equal opportunity and inclusion, ensuring that young women, persons with disabilities, and underprivileged groups have access to its learning and mentorship opportunities. The organization has championed initiatives that support Women in Technology, offering mentorship and scholarships to encourage their participation in STEM-related fields.
Through partnerships with educational institutions, technology firms, NGOs, and government agencies, the Foundation has expanded its reach, delivering workshops and bootcamps that train participants in coding, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Many of its mentees have gone on to become developers, business founders, and community leaders who give back by mentoring others fulfilling the Foundation’s cycle of impact.

As T&S Foundation continues to evolve, it remains grounded in its founding belief: that when the right knowledge, mentorship, and opportunity meet a willing mind, the result is transformation that uplifts entire communities. Its legacy is built not just on programs and partnerships, but on the real lives it transforms young men and women who once lacked direction now finding purpose, leadership, and the power to shape their own futures.
